Farah Naj Jahan
Farah Naj Jahan is a Bangladeshi woman with over four years of experience as an interreligious dialogue and intersectionality activist. She collaborates with individuals from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. As a Young Women Peace Builder, she is the founder of "Initiatives for Bangladesh," an organization led by youths to promote peace, tolerance, diversity, and justice.
Farah plays a role as a Peace Practice Alliance Alumni and Project Grant Winner at the Euphrates Institute, a non-profit organization based in the United States. She has completed her postgraduate degree in Medical Psychiatry and is currently serving as a practitioner of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Her work with organizations such as Peace First, the Euphrates Institute, and The Pollination Project has marked her as a young changemaker.
She presented her paper at the VII. International Middle East Symposium, focusing on political and social stability in the Middle East. Additionally, she works with Maulana Wahiduddin Khan’s Organisation, The Centre for Peace and Spirituality, on translating Maulana’s works for audiences in Bangladesh and West Bengal, India. Farah has also collaborated with female religious leaders from Buddhist and Christian traditions to incorporate a gender-inclusive approach in training.
Currently, Farah is dedicated to promoting social media and diversity literacy to empower youths as online watchdogs. These youths fight to maintain a violence-free online environment and advocate for diversity within their communities. She has worked with young religious leaders from the Koumi Madrasa, Buddhist monks at Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha, and individuals from the Hindu Buddhist and Christian Unity Council of Bangladesh. Her efforts focus on combatting fake news and hate speech, and she trains others in conflict transformation tools, including interreligious dialogue.
Farah believes that "Humanity & Compassion are the symbols of Religions."
