Abdoulaye Ouasselegue, currently imam of the Petevo mosque in Bangui and coordinator of Islamic Relief in Central African Republic, is the vice president and spokesperson of the Islamic Council in the Central African Republic. He is the Secretary General of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulemas and is also the adviser to the national executive board of the Communauté Islamique Centrafricaine. Since 1996, he has been the Islamic preacher and instructor and producer of Islamic broadcasts on Central African radio and television.
Since 2013, he is working in the field of interreligious dialogue trough the Central African faiths platform due to the conflict in the country.
Abdoulaye studied Arabic and Islamic Studies at the International University of Africa Khartoum in Sudan. In 2016, he was nominated recognition officer in the Central African Republic. The imam speaks Sangö, French, Arabic, and English fluently.
