Young Ambassadors of Change Podcast Cover

A KAICIID Podcast exploring how two young doctors & religious leaders - one Muslim, one Jewish - are transforming religious inclusion in Italian hospitals

When Amina Croce and David Fiorentini began their medical careers, they quickly realised a major gap in hospitals: a lack of awareness about the religious needs of patients. How do Muslim and Jewish patients navigate medical care when their faith requires specific dietary restrictions, prayer accommodations, or end-of-life rituals?

In uncertain and challenging times, initiatives like the Muslim Jewish Leadership Council (MJLC) offer a powerful message of hope. Through the MJLC Ambassadors Program, supported by the International Dialogue Centre - KAICIID, Amina and David developed a dialogue-based training program to help medical professionals better understand and accommodate the religious and cultural needs of their patients. Using a problem-based learning approach, their project facilitates workshops that bridge the gap between medical care and religious literacy.

In this episode, Amina and David share their personal motivations, the challenges they faced in launching this initiative, and why interfaith collaboration is essential to building more inclusive societies. We also hear from their mentors, Imam Yahya Pallavicini and Rabbi Amedeo Spagnoletto, who reflect on the broader significance of dialogue in diverse societies.

Join us for a conversation about young people, their faith, their aspirations and what it takes to build a diverse and inclusive society.
