Statement by Faisal bin Muaammar, Secretary General of KAICIID, on the Centre's relocation from Vienna
I would like to announce that the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) and its Council of Parties have decided to relocate the Centre from Vienna.
This decision was taken by all parties unanimously. Consequently, consultations are under way with potential new host countries who have shown interest in headquartering KAICIID.
I am grateful to the Republic of Austria for hosting the Centre since it began operations in 2012 and I extend my gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Spain and the Holy See (as the Founding Observer) and to all those involved in bringing to life this extraordinary intergovernmental organization, which over the past eight years has championed the principles of interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
We will release further information on the subject of relocating the Centre once available.
