Organised under the project SHE4Dialogue

Note: This webinar will be primarly in Arabic language, however English interpretation will be available.

The International Dialogue Center (KAICIID) joins the World in celebrating the International Women’s Day which comes this year among enormous challenges facing the parts of the World alike. Regardless of challenges, women around the World have proved to be resilient and come out stronger from the crisis.  KAICIID would like to take this opportunity to emphasize its commitment and aspirations towards gender, justice and the empowerment of women in all fields – particularly in the field of interfaith dialogue and interfaith peacebuilding. Studies and experiences have proved that roles of women are indispensable in achieving sustainable peace; therefore KAICIID is mobilizing resources and work with policy makers to advance the participation of women in the Arab World in conflict resolution and peacebuilding at national and regional levels in the region.

The webinar will address questions, such as:

1.     What qualities and capacities do women in the Arab Region need to up-skill themselves to become more competent in the landscape of interfaith dialogue, conflicts resolution, social cohesion and peacebuilding?

2.     Which challenges and barriers hinder the involvement of women in dialogue and peacebuilding in the Arab Region?  More specifically, what are the challenges faced by women in the Arab region contributing to interfaith and intercultural dialogue, and what can be done to address these challenges and barriers at structural and institutional levels?

5.     What forms of gender bias and gender prejudices should be addressed, and challenged, to enable women to meaningfully participate and engage in interreligious dialogue and peacebuilding?

6.     What are the added values and merits of having women work alongside men in the Arab region during the negotiations, mediation, conflict resolution and social cohesion strategic plans and actions within their local communities and at national/ regional levels?
