João Magalhães is a designer, administrator of the social solidarity co-op SER. This co-op has the purpose to help vulnerable groups, specially children, giving them resources for emotional management. It's also specialising in activities that promote the 16th SDG and bring peace to individuals, communities and institutions. The core action is based on Contemplative Practices and Psychology as ways of personal development. João is also a Supervisor of the Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA), mainly its Portuguese sub-delegation of the Association. He is also an editor of the Portuguese magazine "Budismo, uma Resposta ao Sofrimento" (Buddhism, an Answer to Suffering), a non-sectarian and inclusive magazine, available for all schools and masters. One of the purposes of this magazine and news hub is also to promote the value of women in Buddhism and the disclosure of academic studies regarding Buddhism. He's also a part of the GT-DIR - Group for Interreligious Dialogue in Portugal. João Magalhães is also the author of the book "Tu És Buda" (You're Buddha). João Magalhães translated more than 30 books of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, from the temple Fo Guang Shan to Portuguese language.
