Randy Ian F. Gallego serves as an Associate Professor at the College of Health Sciences, Mindanao State University-Main Campus, where he specialises in peace education. Despite his primary profession as a Licensed Nurse, he also facilitates the course "Fundamentals of Peace Education (FPE 101)", a comprehensive three-unit course offered to all undergraduate programs at the university. This course adopts a holistic, multi-, inter-, and transdisciplinary approach to peace-in-action-based discipline.

Currently, he is completing his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Nursing at the University of the Philippines in Manila. His research explores the dynamics of health, culture, and spirituality among conflict-displaced populations. Randy is also actively involved in peacebuilding trainings and inter-religious activities in his locality.
