Audrey Ferrer
Audrey Ferrer is a Religion and Family Life Resource teacher for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, and the coordinator of the Interfaith Youth Alliance Movement. She supports religious educators, from kindergarten to Grade 12, across 196 schools. Her projects, studies and/or work abroad in Scotland, Sri Lanka, Chile, the Canary Islands, Nicaragua, Cuba, Israel and South Korea have brought rich learning experiences to shape her vocation as an educator.
Her work with students has been presented at regional, national and international levels, on issues of climate change, food sovereignty, modern slavery, forced migration and the role of women in the peace movement. Audrey has a particular interest in engaging youth in interfaith dialogue and collaboration with community partners to advocate for equity and social justice issues. She has won several exemplary awards, scholarships and grants and has received support from organizations such as KAICIID, Development & Peace (Caritas International), the Archdiocese of Toronto Office for Interreligious Dialogue, the Mary Ward Centre, CUSO, Canada World Youth, the Canadian Society for Yad Vashem, Scarboro Missions and the University of Toronto.
