Advisor, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Human Rights, Kosovo
Anesa Colakovic, from Kosovo, is: a Fulbright alumna in the USA; a World Learning Fellow; a Schusterman scholar in Israel; a Rotarian in India; a German Marshall Fund alumna; a global laureate in Mathematics and Economics in Germany; and a Peace Fellow in Thailand. In 2019, she received an award for peacebuilding in Basel, Switzerland.
The concept of development runs through her veins and she has set up organizations and businesses. For 12 years, and on a voluntary basis, she lead numerous projects/events/ campaigns for social inclusion and community development in Kosovo, Serbia, the United States and India. She enjoys working in the fields of development and human rights, especially with marginalized communities, minority groups, youth, women and people with disabilities. Previously, she worked in international organizations and is currently working in a government institution.
Anesa has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Public Policy, a minor in Law from the Rochester Institute of Technology, USA and a master’s in International Development from Ohio University, USA.
