King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), is proud to announce that Ms. Hind Kabawat, a steering committee member of the Interreligious Platform for Cooperation and Dialogue in the Arab Region (IPDC), has been appointed as one of the seven members of the Preparatory Committee for Syria’s National Dialogue Conference.
The Preparatory Committee, composed of five men and two women, has been tasked with establishing internal regulations, setting operational standards, and overseeing the design and execution of the National Dialogue Conference. This highly anticipated event, set to take place in Damascus in the coming months, will bring together 1,200–1,500 Syrians from all 14 governorates, representing the country's diverse communities and sectors.

The National Dialogue Conference marks a critical milestone in efforts to build peace, foster reconciliation, and ensure long-term stability in Syria. By providing a platform for inclusive dialogue, the conference aims to bridge divides, promote mutual understanding, and set the foundation for a peaceful and unified future.
We are honored that one of our esteemed IPDC members will play an integral role in shaping this historic event. Hind’s expertise in interfaith peacebuilding and conflict resolution will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the dialogue process.
About Hind Kabawat
Hind Kabawat is a renowned expert in interfaith peacebuilding and conflict resolution, with a strong focus on Syria. She currently serves as the Director of Interfaith Peacebuilding at the Centre for World Religions and Diplomacy and is the President and Co-founder of Tastakel, an organization committed to peace and reconciliation through women’s empowerment and education.
She was previously a member of the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) for Syria in Geneva, actively contributing to Syrian peace talks. As the Deputy Head of the HNC office, she played a key role in diplomatic negotiations and conflict resolution efforts.
Since 2017, Hind has been a steering committee member of KAICIID’s IPDC, consistently working to foster interreligious and intercultural dialogue in the Arab region.
