The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is the second largest organization after the United Nations with a membership of 57 states spread over four continents. The OIC endeavours to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony among various people of the world.

In June 2015, KAICIID signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the OIC to promote interreligious dialogue and peace throughout the world. Since then, the two organizations have worked together to integrate dialogue in interreligious and religious education to promote respect for diversity, combat incitement to violence and Islamophobia, support human rights education and promote tolerance and intercultural skills.

In South-East Asia, KAICIID and the OIC have promoted Buddhist/Muslim dialogue and peaceful coexistence between the followers of the different faith traditions in the region. KAICIID and the OIC have also worked together in the Central African Republic to build dialogue capacities and enhance the role of religious actors and traditional leaders in the implementation of peace agreements. To this end, an interfaith conference was held in Dakar, Senegal in December 2017, leading to the adoption of an action plan which called for religious actors and traditional leaders to be involved in peace processes.
