The globetrotting InterFaith Tour stopped by KAICIID Headquarters 17-18 June to finalise the objectives of their cooperation with KAICIID Research and to participate in a training on data collection during their final week before departing on their year-long, global InterFaith Tour.
The InterFaith Tour will take the group of four young people to more than 50 countries over the next year to document interfaith relations and interreligious activities. The tour aims to contribute to the interreligious dialogue knowledge base by mapping organisations and individuals active in the field and gathering as well as making available promising practices that will be a helpful resource for practitioners, activists, researchers and civil society.
During the meeting, KAICIID experts briefed the InterFaith Tour members on the specific research needs of KAICIID and the Peace Mapping Project. KAICIID also provided the InterFaith Tour members with advanced training on conducting interviews and field research that will be essential in their upcoming tour.
The interreligious dialogue data collected by the InterFaith Tour will be directly applicable to KAICIID’s Peace Mapping Project, specifically the Promising Practices section of the Project, which will provide practitioners around the world with information on specific dialogue activities through an archive of current dialogue practices.
KAICIID has been supporting and cooperating with the yearly InterFaith Tour since the first Tour in 2013.
