Hosam Ed-Deen Allam
Hosam Ed-Deen Allam is a State Counsellor at Egypt's State Lawsuits Authority. He has an MA in Diplomacy and Religion with Distinction from the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion at Lancaster University. In parallel, Hossam serves as a Lecturer of Usul al-Fiqh and Research Methods in English at the Department of Sharia and Law in English at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, where he obtained the LLB of Sharia and Law in English with Honours.
Previously, Hossam worked as a Member of Al-Azhar Fatwa Global Centre and as an Academic Researcher at Al-Azhar's Observatory for Countering Extremism. His main research areas are faith-based diplomacy, conflict transformation, desectarianization, international humanitarian law and peacebuilding. He has published several academic works on interfaith diplomacy and peacebuilding.
While pursuing his MA in the UK, Hossam worked as a Fellow Researcher at the Richardson Institute for Peace and Conflict Research. Additionally, he is a project participant with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) focusing on safeguarding places of worship. He is also a Chevening Scholar.
