Sani Suleiman has two decades of experience working extensively with communities, groups, schools, governments and NGOs on conflict transformation, peacebuilding, trust building, countering violent extremism, conflict early warning and response, dialogue, mediation and reconciliation across Nigeria, Chad, Canada and the US.

Sani worked at the management level including at Mercy Corps Nigeria,  as a senior program manager and head of office.  He has worked with the Justice Development and Peace Caritas Commission (JDPC) of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos, the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), Mercy Corps Nigeria and Search for Common Ground, leading dialogues and mediation on farmer-herder and other inter-communal conflict. He is currently working with the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue.

Sani Suleiman is a trained social worker, trainer, dialogue facilitator and a mediator in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. He received some of his training at the Nigeria Defense Academy, University of Jos, Plateau State Polytechnic, Africa Peace Building Institute in Zambia, Dispute Resolution Program of the University of Massachusetts USA, West Africa Emergency Response Training in Ghana, Peace building at Eastern Mennonite University Virginia, USA, He is a Commonwealth Professional Fellow in Diversity Management at International Center for Reconciliation Coventry, United Kingdom, Fellow Nostra Aetate Foundation Rome, Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome, Italy.

He is involved with mentoring young people in Nigeria and has assisted several groups, communities and government to set up peace and conflict resolution structures. He is currently the National President of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations; and is a recipient of many awards, such as from the New Era Educational and Charitable Support Foundation for his efforts in promoting interfaith cooperation and religious harmony; the Islamic Counselling Initiative (ICIN), the Network for Peace and Protection for the Rights of Children and Women and the Alexander Foundation.

His Motto is “Your peace is in my peace and my peace is in your Peace”.
