Maroun Chamoun is a Maronite priest in the Antelias Diocese, Lebanon. He holds a PhD in education from Université de Rouen, France, and has extensive experience in the field of education. His research and work have focused on peace education in Maronite synods and schools, where he developed the innovative 'Ep-Mètre' tool to measure peace education. He is also the author of a book on partnership between families and schools in student education.
In addition to his work in education, Maroun has been an active participant in various inter-religious dialogue, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution programs since 2013 with NGOs such as FDCD and Danmission. He is also a member of the Arab Group for Muslim-Christian Dialogue.
Maroun is currently the secondary school principal at Saint Joseph School Cornet Chahwan and is dedicated to improving and developing his community through various projects and activities, including his recent work on TAKAT, a women's empowerment project that aims to build the capacities of diverse women from different religions and backgrounds and reinforce dialogue and social cohesion.
