The Parliament of the World’s Religions, of which KAICIID was a key sponsor, brought together more than 9000 religious leaders and experts in a unique demonstration of interreligious solidarity. The Director General was joined in the opening ceremony by the Governor of Utah, Gary Herbert, the Mayor of Salt Lake City, Ralph Becker, and the Mayor of Salt Lake County, Ben McAdams, as well as Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Parliament of the World’s Religions.
