The KAICIID Fellows are now reaching out to their communities in more than twenty countries to promote community investment in dialogue through their Fellows projects. Each micro-funded Fellows project is a customised initiative that capitalises on the skills and expertise learned in the Fellows Programme that the Fellows use to promote social cohesion and peace.

Some of the projects include interreligious site visits, training in IRD and dialogue, advocacy for dialogue, women and youth engagement, academic research, developing curricula for interreligious education, producing a documentary and developing an IRD Game app.

The KAICIID International Fellows Programme is a one-year learning and training programme that empowers institutions that train future religious leaders by providing training in interreligious dialogue education. The aim is to facilitate dialogue encounters by giving the Fellows the tools, experience, networking and knowledge to pursue interreligious dialogue and to prepare their own students to become facilitators and leaders in interreligious dialogue. In addition to the training, the Fellows also learn how to train their own students in conflict transformation to be active peacemakers in their respective communities.

Forty-four Fellows representing Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism are currently implementing their initiatives to promote interreligious education and dialogue in their communities. They are half-way through this year’s programme and will conclude their training in November 2016 in Vienna, Austria.
