The International Dialogue Centre - KAICIID is seeking a Social Media and Content Design Assistant to support the planning, drafting, design and publishing of content across its English social media channels. Working closely with the Communications team, the role contributes to a regular flow of timely, accurate and engaging content.

Role:

Under the supervision of the Head, Communications, Social Media and Content Design Assistant supports the day-to-day management and content production of KAICIID’s English social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X). The role contributes to the planning, drafting, design, publishing and monitoring of content that communicates the Centre’s programmes, events, partnerships and impact to different audiences, emphasing the people KAICIID works with and supports.

 

The consultant works closely with the Communications team and colleagues across the Centre to ensure a regular flow of timely, accurate and engaging content, focused on human interest stories from KAICIID’s library of stories. The selected candidate is expected to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, following digital trends and adapting content for different platforms while maintaining KAICIID’s institutional voice and visual identity. 

 

Use of AI Tools:

Consultants may use AI-based tools (e.g. for layout assistance or image enhancement) only in support of their work, provided such tools do not compromise the confidentiality, originality, quality or ownership of the final design. All deliverables must be reviewed, verified and finalised by the Consultant.

 

The use of AI to generate designs and images without human revision is strictly prohibited. Consultants must not input confidential or unpublished material into AI platforms without express permission.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day management of KAICIID’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X), including drafting, scheduling and publishing content in line with the communications plan, content calendar and editorial calendar;
  • Draft clear and engaging social media copy on KAICIID’s programmes, events, partnerships, publications, institutional milestones and impact stories;

  • Create, develop and adapt simple social media graphics, carousels and other digital assets using tools such as Canva, in line with KAICIID’s brand guidelines;

  • Support the production of short-form social media content, including Reels and other platform-native formats, working with the Communications team and designated Content Creator as required;

  • Monitor social media trends, formats and platform developments and identify relevant opportunities to strengthen KAICIID’s digital presence and reach;

  • Support community management by monitoring comments, messages, mentions and tags and escalating relevant queries to the Communications team;

  • Maintain and update the social media content calendar, ensuring upcoming events, international days, programme activities and institutional priorities are reflected across KAICIID’s channels;

  • Liaise with colleagues across KAICIID to collect information, images, quotes and other materials required for social media coverage;

  • Support live and near-live social media coverage of KAICIID events, including the preparation of posts, quotes, photographs and short-form content;

  • Assist with monitoring social media performance and preparing reports on content performance;

  • Ensure social media content is accurate, appropriately cleared and consistent with KAICIID’s messaging, tone of voice and visual identity;

  • Support the organisation and maintenance of social media assets, templates and content files;

  • Perform any other duties as required.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • University degree or relevant professional qualification in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Public Relations or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in social media, digital communications, content creation or a related area. Relevant internships or substantial practical experience may be considered.

  • Demonstrated experience drafting and adapting content for social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and X.

  • Experience creating simple visual content for social media using Canva or similar design tools.

  • Good understanding of social media trends, platform-specific formats and emerging digital content practices, particularly short-form video and Reels.

  • Experience working with social media scheduling, publishing and analytics tools is desirable. 

  • Experience working with tools such as Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom. 

  • Strong writing and editing skills in English, able to produce engaging copy for different audiences.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple content requests, deadlines and priorities simultaneously.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work within established brand guidelines and institutional messaging.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from different professional, cultural and geographical backgrounds.

  • Previous experience in an international organisation, NGO, public institution, communications agency or multicultural working environment would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of additional languages would be an asset.

     

Languages:

  • English proficiency (written and oral) is required;

  • Knowledge of other languages (French, German, Portuguese, Spanish or Arabic) is an asset.

 

Terms of Engagement:

Working model: Full time.

 

Duration: From completion of the recruitment process until 31 December 2026

 

Working arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days at the KAICIID office in Lisbon, 2 days remote per calendar week.


The monthly salary for this role is EUR 2000.
