2026 Call for Proposals: Arab Region Dialogue360 Initiatives

12 January 2026

The King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) has allocated funds to support dialogue initiatives that focus on building bridges between diverse religious, ethnic, political, communities in Palestine, Sudan and Syria. Possible grants for individuals are up to 4500 Euro and for organizations up to 7000 Euro and will be evaluated based on specific selection criteria (please refer to Annex 4 in the document folder). Initiatives should be fully implemented within a four-month or a six-month period (depending on the duration of the initiative) from April 1st to September 30th, 2026, including the submission of the final reports.

Initiatives that strengthen community and institutional responses to crises will be prioritized. Within this overarching focus, preference will be given to initiatives that:

  1. Counter and prevent hate speech invoked in the name of religion at local or national levels, particularly where such rhetoric exacerbates crises or undermines community resilience.
  2. Enhance the role of Interreligious and Intrareligious dialogue in crisis response, with a special emphasis on interfaith initiatives that mobilize communities and support vulnerable groups, including the elderly, people with specific health needs, women, children, and refugees, during national emergencies.
  3. Integrate principles of Interreligious Education and Common Citizenship into IRD efforts to strengthen social cohesion, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence, especially in contexts affected by crisis or instability.
  4. Promote the protection of cultural heritage and sacred sites, recognizing their importance for community identity, continuity, and recovery in times of crisis.

Proposals will be evaluated based on specific selection criteria. All initiatives and activities should include a policy dimension, involving policymakers in the initiative on a local or national level with different levels of engagement.
